Customer information

Privacy
policy.

This notice explains what happens to the details you give us when you ask for a free measure or a quote.

Last updated 4 September 2026.

01

Who we are

This notice explains how Sudbury Blinds Ltd ("we") handles personal information. We are the data controller for the details you send us through this website.

We are registered in England and Wales under company number 16020161. Our registered office is 11 Alexandra Road, Sudbury, England, CO10 2XH. This is our registered correspondence address, not an invitation to visit a showroom.

You can reach us on 01787 322762 or at info@sudburyblinds.co.uk.

02

What we collect

If you use the quote form we collect your name, postcode, phone number, the type of blind you are interested in, anything you write in the message field, and the page from which you send the request. The form does not ask for your email address.

If you call, email or message us on WhatsApp instead, we hold whatever you choose to tell us in that conversation.

Our website and form providers process technical information such as your IP address, browser details and request times to deliver and protect their services. This is separate from advertising or visitor analytics.

The form needs your name, postcode and phone number so we can respond and check whether we cover your area. Other details are optional. If you prefer not to use the form, you can contact us directly. Please do not include payment-card details or sensitive personal information in your message.

03

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your details to reply to your enquiry, arrange a free measure at a time that suits you, prepare a quotation, and where you go ahead, to supply and install your order.

Where you have asked us for a quote, our lawful basis is that the processing is necessary for steps taken at your request before entering into a contract. For general enquiries we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.

If you place an order, we use the information needed to perform our contract with you. We retain records required by accounting and tax law to meet our legal obligations. Our legitimate interests also include protecting the website from misuse and handling complaints or legal claims.

Submitting this form does not subscribe you to marketing. We do not use the website to build advertising profiles or make solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

04

Cookies and tracking

This website does not set cookies or use browser storage to identify you. It has no visitor analytics, advertising pixels or marketing trackers.

The fonts and images are served from this site, with no externally embedded maps, videos or tracking scripts. Submitting the quote form sends your enquiry to our form service, described below; this does not set a tracking cookie.

05

Who else sees it

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

Render hosts this website. When you submit the quote form, Cloudflare processes the request and Resend sends the enquiry details by email to our business inbox. These providers process information needed to deliver their services.

Our form service forwards your enquiry to our Google Workspace business mailbox; it does not create a separate customer database. Service providers may retain operational records under their own service arrangements.

We share only what is necessary to do the work: with the suppliers who manufacture made-to-measure products for your order, and with the fitter attending your appointment.

Where necessary, information may also be shared with our professional advisers or public authorities to meet legal obligations or deal with a legal claim.

If you choose to contact us by WhatsApp, that conversation is carried by WhatsApp and is subject to their own privacy terms. The same applies to your email provider if you email us.

06

Processing outside the UK

Our technology providers operate internationally, so information may be processed outside the UK, including in the United States. This website does not promise UK-only data storage.

The providers' published data-processing terms describe protections for international transfers. Depending on the provider and transfer, these include UK-recognised adequacy arrangements or approved contractual safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses adapted for UK law. You can read the terms below or contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your data.

07

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected. The period depends on the type of record and whether you go on to place an order.

For enquiries that do not become orders, we consider whether we have answered your questions, whether a quotation or follow-up is still active, when we last heard from you, and whether a complaint or dispute remains unresolved.

For completed orders, we consider the installation and aftercare work, applicable warranty periods, statutory accounting and tax record-keeping requirements, and any time limits relevant to legal claims. A specific legal requirement or unresolved dispute may mean keeping the relevant records for longer.

Our policy is to securely delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed. Contact us if you would like to know the retention criteria applying to a particular record or ask for its deletion. Copies held by our service providers are also subject to their service, backup and deletion arrangements.

08

Keeping it secure

This site is served over an encrypted connection. We limit access to enquiry details to the people who need them to arrange your measure, quote or installation.

09

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances and our lawful basis, you can ask to access your personal information, correct inaccurate information, have it erased, restrict its use, or receive certain information in a portable form. These rights are not absolute: for example, we may need to retain a record to meet a legal obligation.

Your right to object: you can object to processing based on our legitimate interests, explaining your particular circumstances. If your information is used for direct marketing, you can object to that use at any time.

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.

To exercise your rights, email info@sudburyblinds.co.uk, call 01787 322762, or write to our registered office. We normally respond within one month. We may need information to verify your identity; where the law permits more time, we will explain why.

If you have a concern, please contact us so we can look into it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, on 0303 123 1113 or through its website.
